The ever growing UK based Black Butter Records may just have found it’s next breakout artist with newcomer Jade Blue.
This deep house track ‘Lately’ by Jade Blue & Frequency takes after the fellow label signees My Nu Leng - but the simply infectious melody in this track is arguably far catchier than anything the aforementioned duo have produced yet. Showcasing some great production, ‘Lately’ begins with a subtle, dark tinged build up before introducing a fantastically deep yet memorable melody that will stick in your head for days on end.
The synths in the track are punchy and have just the right amount of reverb to carry the track right through to it’s conclusion. Along with some pitched up vocal samples and added distortion in the second half to keep things fresh, this is one of the best deep house tracks I’ve heard so far this year. Big things to come from Jade Blue and Black Butter Records.
