Sonny Jim, the self confessed ‘top gun from Brum’ teams up with Leaf Dog who swaps the mic in exchange for the MPC to produce the entirety of How to Tame Lions’ eight tracks. Leaf Dog excels on the beats, expanding on his trademark sound to showcase some more soulful and thoughtful production styles. Sonny Jim is at his lyrical best, walking the tightrope of witty boastfulness, self awareness and outright hedonism with ease. A short but sweet EP, that finds more high points in its 23 minutes than most albums twice its length.
