Meet the Obama-hating radicals behind Operation American Spring. On Friday, May 16, this group of self-styled revolutionaries from around the country descended on Washington, D.C., sort of like an Occupy Wall Street for Tea Party patriots. Its members have promised to camp on the Washington Mall until their demands are met. What are they demanding? Just that President Obama step down and all of Congress disband. NBD.
As you'll see in the video, the rally is a far cry from the what was promised by Harry Riley,a 76-year-old retired Army colonel who created the movement. We spoke with Riley earlier in May, as he was preparing for his trip, which he promoted using social media. He told us he was hoping for between 1.2 million and 1.8 million supporters to rally behind the movement. But so far, it's looking more than the 100-man march than the million-man march he was banking on.
