Normally, when powerhouses like Yellow Claw, Diplo, LNY TNZ, and Waka Flaka Flame team up for a music video, one would expect nothing less than than flashy images of sexy girls shaking their asses, wide, sweeping shots of huge festival crowds, and a lot of fire and/or CO2 cannons. The latest release from the aforementioned crew, however, features a captivating story with a powerful image that hit homes for any electronic fan.
The video follows a young farmer girl whose father carries a dark secret: he allows European gangsters to manufacture ecstasy in his barn. When the girl is accepted into university, her father is able to pay for things like an apartment, a bed, and other college necessities. Then, while out with her friends, the heroine of our story buys some of the ecstasy made in her own father’s barn and dies. FULL. CIRCLE.
Finally, “Drugs are not worth the risk,” is displayed. Let that soak in for a while… It’s an unfortunate truth that our community is paired with drug and alcohol abuse, but it’s incredible to see some of the most influential artists on the scene step up and help fight for what’s right. Enjoy.
