Jeremy Davis, Rudd’s best friend, broke the sad news in a Facebook post. “I can’t believe I’m writing this, or even able to see with all the tears blurring my sight,” Jeremy began.
Jeremy had worked tirelessly to help his best friend regain his freedom. Jeremy made a powerful video and supplied photos that were the heart (and soul) of the most viewed story The Clemency Report has published: “LSD Lifer: This is my best fried Roderick Walker. But everyone calls him Rudd.” More than 16,000 people read the story.
Rudd was No. 25 on the list of all prisoners nationwide deserving freedom, along with two other Deadhead LSD lifers. His change.org petition, started by Jeremy, had more than 100,000 signatures.
Rudd is survived by a son, a daughter and many, many friends.
“The family will never forget you brother. We know you could have talked and not done one day in jail – but no- you were true – FAMILY NOT FADE AWAY,” writes Jeremy.
